Dustin Cauchi, born 1981 in Valletta, currently lives and works in Barcelona.
Cauchi is part of the artist collective Fenêtreproject and has exhibited widely under that name over the past years. His work has been featured in numerous publications including a 2013 monograph on his film works published by Mousse, Milan.
Dustin's vocabulary, characterized by a crudeness of the domestic interiors and by the very strong emotional contribution that they instill, makes the viewer go beyond the confines that separate the exterior world from the interior.
The result is a highly symbolic and stratified narrative space that welcomes the public, who is faced with the opportunity to travel into one's deepest and most ancestral fears, a theme that is definitely present in Cauchi's art.
Among his solo exhibitions with Fenêtreproject, we mention: Blitz Gallery, Valletta (2018); Malta Contemporary Art, Valletta (2017); Komplot, Brussels (2016); Riss(e), Varese and GROUND, Nicosia (2015); EXO, Paris (2014).
Cauchi's collaboration with Fenêtreproject has also been exhibited in many galleries and museums, among which we name: ZKM, Karlsruhe (2017); La Plage, Paris, Spazio O, Milan, Point Centre for Contemporary Art, Nicosia and in the context of the 9th Berlin Biennale, Berlin (2016); at EXO, Cité Internationale des Arts, Shelves, Project nr. 1 in Paris (2015).
