Amalgama El Prado is a video work created from suggestions coming from the Pinacoteca of Museo National del Prado. The projected images will be transformed by an algorithm, created by the artist's studio, so that the original works appear only partially. The paintings will be screened as they slide vertically from the façade of the Goya museum on 12, 13, 14 and 15 December. El Prado Amalgam is an attempt to understand how digital media filters our artistic experience, perhaps by updating the imaginary museum of Malraux to the electronic age. The swirling effects that transform the original paintings evoke the incessant flow of information that flows through the Internet, a means that has altered the way in which works of art are consumed, processed and disseminated online. Amalgama El Prado deals above all with the challenge of creating, seeing and circulating art in our liquid modernity.
Visible on 12, 13, 14 and 15 December 2019.
